5 Easy Ways to Roll the Dice King Dice

Welcome to the Cuphead finale, one of the harder things that you'll play this year. Before we give the devil his due, we need to take out his right hand man: King Dice. He's located in the Casino, so walk up, hit accept and prepare to go from "This game was charming and difficult" to "I regret every choice that I have ever made that led me to this moment in space and time."

Here's the thing about King Dice and this gauntlet of bosses: It's hard, but if you play smartly, you'll win.

The fight is set up like a betting table, and you must make your way across the board and onto "FIN." At minimum you need to kill three bosses, but we'll show you how to land exactly where you want.

King Dice lets you roll to decide your fate. He'll spawn a fast-moving die in the center of the arena. Parry this, and it'll stop a moment later, determining if you'll move one, two or three spaces forward. Mastering the dice roll is the key to mastering this fight. If you can just choose the three bosses you want, you can get good at them far quicker than randomly trying to battle a new boss every roll.

To hit the one you want, you need to jump and hit parry quickly.

• If you feel confident in your reflexes, wait for the number just before to pop up and instantly parry.
• If you need more time, watch for two numbers before, jump from the right or left and parry when you reach the die.

Retry the process a few time to learn the rhythm of the roll, and you'll get the easy fights.

The only downside to this method is that three random spaces (one per trio) will give you +1 health. This is a trap meant to lure you into bosses you don't know. Ignore them and hope that they land on the fights you are going for.

For the purposes of this guide, we will be landing on 3, 4, Second Safe, 7, Third Safe and Fin.

Space 3: Cigarette

Landing on the third space will net you the Cigarette fight, an extremely easy battle. The arena is two ashtrays, one on the left and one on the right. Cigarette will spawn on the right while Cuphead will spawn on the left.

Shoot at Cigarette across from you and dodge his fireballs. When he dissolves into ashes, jump and dash through the floating cigarette demons. Turn around on the second ash tray and shoot him some more. Repeat until he's stomped out.

Space 4: Domino

This fight is very easy, provided you have the Chaser weapon equipped (which you should). Domino has very few attacks, so run along the conveyor belt and avoid the spikes. When Domino shoots a bird domino at you, avoid jumping into it and make sure to jump over it. When they shoot dice at you, parry the pink ones and avoid all the others. If you are holding down attack, Domino will fall quickly.

Space 7: Roulette

The seventh space gives you a really easy fight with Roulette that will also help you practice parrying before the final battle.

When the fight starts, immediately jump up and parry a chip platform. When the roulette ballerina starts hopping toward you, jump over her and parry a platform to land on. Repeat as she goes back and forth. The only other attack you need to be wary of are the balls that fall from the sky. These travel from the outside in, so wait for an opportune moment to dash past them. Keep shooting, and she'll go down.

Boss: King Dice

Hey, if you thought the fight was over when you hit "Fin," you're in for quite a surprise. The moment that your mark reaches the end of the list, King Dice will start attacking you.

Begin by shooting him in his head. Thankfully, King Dice only has one move. Unfortunately, it is extremely random and very hard to dodge.

King Dice will place his hand on the table to begin his attack. He'll then start moving it in a walking motion, and cards will come storming out. Hitting these cards will hurt you, and they are too long to jump when stacked together.

Look for the pink cards that randomly spawn, jump-dash over to them and parry your way across. Once again, this is a great time for Chaser.

Hope you get lucky on cards and keep jump-dash-parrying your way to safety. It is very difficult to not lose health on this section, so it is important that you try and stay healthy on the bosses before. Once you pound enough shots into King Dice's thick, plastic skull, he'll go down.

Now all that's left is the devil.
